Toilet Revelation

I've been reading a book by an incredible woman of God.  She talks about all of these revelations that the Lord gives her in the mundane and at all kinds of times in her life.  She describes the Lord speaking clearly to her heart so beautifully.

So, I'm cleaning the toilets today and I'm asking the Lord to give me revelations and words as I go through my every day life.  I want to have incredible interactions and words from the Lord.  And you know what, God is so good.  He is such a loving Father!  He spoke to me on the third and final toilet (three bathrooms is great until you have to clean them all😣) and gave me a great word that I had to write down immediately.

I don't know about you but I get great satisfaction out of seeing a dirty white toilet get sparkly clean.  As you're wiping things down and they are turning white again you feel a sense of accomplishment (well, at least I do).  The Lord reminded me that this is how he feels when Jesus wiped all of our sins clean and God sees us through the eyes of His precious Son. Jesus' perfect sacrifice satisfies God. So now when He looks at me He only sees squeaky clean, spotless, white as snow (or porcelain) me because of the precious shed blood of Jesus.  Yep, mind blowing, right?!?!

This ties in with other things the Lord and I have been talking about lately.  I was at the Dollar Tree the other day (I know, shocking, for all of those of you who know me) and I called Dave.  I told him that I really wanted to buy these Andes mints but I didn't really need them but wanted them.  He said, "Just get them, you deserve it." That stopped me dead in my tracks.  I honestly hate that saying..."you deserve it."  It implies that I needed to work and strive at something to deserve a reward.  I work hard, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I strive really hard to be an overachiever.  Not for anyone else's approval but my own and the Lord but still, it's exhausting.  Always trying to do enough to not feel guilty if I just want to veg out or sit down or get some stinkin' Andes mints.

Then the Lord reminds that I DO NOT have to strive. I don't "deserve" anything but God freely, graciously, overwhelmingly, no strings attached pours out everything He's got into my life.

God still speaks and He will speak through any situation if we are willing to listen.  Start asking today...ask Him to show you something incredible.  I can't wait for you to experience the Lord the way we are all meant to, face to face, moment to moment, toilet to toilet.

May the amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you!

Hannah
